GP Referral Enquiries

This statement has been created in response to numerous enquiries from a variety of individuals and organisations regarding GP referrals, social care and mental health practitioners.

We have been receiving numerous enquiries relating specifically to our ability to provide support and sessions for various specialist needs from individuals and organisations such as GP referral, social care and mental health practitioners.

Whilst It is clear that there is a need for this type of service within Blyth and whilst we are here for the community, unfortunately we cannot be all things to everyone.

We simply do not have the skills in-house to provide any of these types of services.

Thinking about donating Tools, Equipment & Materials?

Tools & Equipment:
All Tools & Equipment must be safe for use, in working order and have manufactures instructions. Equipment must suitable for our shed and our aims, therefore we cannot guarantee that any equipment that is donated will be used, equipment may be passed on to other men’s shed around the UK, disposed of, or sold to raise shed funds if we decide this is the best course of action. Please discuss with a member of the committee before donating.

We sometimes receive requests to restore equipment and ensure it will be used in a certain way, unfortunately we are not able to accept donations with conditions attached but we may be able to restore equipment without it being donated as a shed project. Please discuss with a member of the committee before donating.

Timber & Materials:
Whilst we welcome donations of materials there are certain items which we cannot accept or may have to be checked.

Please do not just leave materials without checking with us first. Please don’t leave donations outside the shed gates.

Examples of such materials are chemicals, plastics and scrap metals, MDF, chipboard , treated or painted timbers. Timber which is wet, weather damaged or infested with woodworm.

Any donated materials may be passed on to other men’s shed around the UK, disposed of, or sold to raise shed funds if we decide this is the best course of action. If you have any issues with this then please discuss with a member of the committee before donating.
